St. Joe State Park has 4 lakes inside the park called Jo Lee, Pim, Monsanto, and Apollo. Monsanto is the biggest of them, covering about 25 acres of the park. Jo Lee and Apollo are about the same size and Pim is the smallest of all of them. The lakes are stocked with catfish, bluegill, bass, and crappie. The bass and bluegill make nice fillets. You are allowed to take boats on the water as long as they have electric motors, gas motors are not allowed. Each lake has a ramp where you can launch the boat. All state fishing regulations apply and you will need a pass for JoLee and Apollo Lake.

You are allowed to swim at Monsanto and Pim Lake and use the beaches; both are located right next to the ORV area. Pim Lake is the smaller of the two lakes. St. Joe also has areas with picnic tables and BBQ pits for visitors to use, but please don't bring cans, glass, coolers, alcohol, and pets to the beach. One neat thing about Monsanto and Pim Lake is that they allow you to scuba dive if you are certified and have someone accompanying you. You just need to mark the area you are diving in. There are vending machines for refreshments and live bait at the entrance to the park office. St. Joe's Park office has a lot of good brochures for St. Joe State Park, Chadwick, Sutton Bluff, and several other areas. Just check out the brochure rack in the office.
